Face Repair and Replenish Cream

Looking at the usefulness of my previous concoction - Homemade Nourishing Winter Face Cream, I wanted to whip up another cream but with different ingredients and benefits.

So, this time I shopped for the oils that targets skin repair from blemishes and has anti-ageing properties.

I researched that Argan oil is a natural skin moisturizer because of vitamin A and E and good fatty acids. These properties make argon oil effective for anti-ageing. Argon oil also has Linoleic acid which aids rashes, infections and repairs damaged skin cells.

Next I read about Rosehip Seed Oil and it too contains vitamin A along with vitamin C. This oil is great for removing pigmentation and gives hydration to the skin.

Finally I came across Frankincense Essential oil which is my favorite and it is a natural antiseptic, reduces appearance of wrinkles, removes headache and nausea, and fades scars.

So, here it is my new cream for replenishment and anti-ageing. Its best to use as a night cream.

Ingredients for 150 gm jar:

  1. 1 tbsp. cocoa butter (click to buy Bliss of Earth Organic Cocoa Butter)
  2. 1 tbsp. shea butter (click to buy Bliss of Earth Pure Organic Shea Butter)
  3. 1 tbsp. almond oil (click to buy Hamdard Roghan Badam Shirin Almond Oil)
  4. 2 tsp. frankincense oil (click to buy Mesmara Frankincense Essential Oil)
  5. 1 tsp. rosehip seed oil (click to buy Seyal Organic Rosehip Seed Oil)
  6. 1 tsp. argan oil (click to buy StBotanica Pure Argan Oil)
  7. Enough coconut oil for filling the bottle (click to buy Max Care Cold Pressed Coconut Oil)

Method:

In a double boiler melt cocoa butter, shea butter and coconut oil.
Remove from heat and mix in all the remaining ingredients.
Cool in fridge for 5 minutes or till the oil begins to harden slightly.
Take out from fridge and begin whisking till the oil turn bright white in color and resembles whipped cream.
Transfer to a sanitized and dry jar or container.

Tips:

  • Since the cream lacks chemicals and preservatives, make small batch and use them fresh.
  • Store your cream in a dark container and away from sunlight because the essential oils used are pure and undiluted and light sensitive.
  • In hotter months, the cream will melt, so you can keep it in fridge.
  • After buying all the ingredients the money spent will make this cream seem expensive and one may be tempted to purchase a store bought cream instead. But I must say that the homemade cream uses very little amount from each purchased item. As a result, all the butters, oils and fragrances can used several times to make atleast 15 containers of 50 gms size.
