Recipe 14: Homemade Pizza: Onion and Capsicum

For long I wanted to make a homemade version of pizza. I already perfected my yeast dough recipe and in search for recipes to make out of that dough, the pizza came to my mind.

For beginners, like me, I wanted to experiment with veg pizza. And it turned out very good.

Ingredients:

  1. 350 gms yeast dough
  2. 2 sliced onion
  3. 2 green capsicum
  4. boiled corn kernels
  5. few cubed cottage cheese/paneer (optional)
  6. 3/4th cup homemade or store-bought pizza sauce (click to buy Funfoods Italian Pizza Sauce)
  7. 2 tsp. black pepper powder
  8. 4-5 fresh basil leaves (if fresh is not available click to buy Dried Basil Seasoning)
  9. 2-3 tsp. dried oregano (click to buy Easy Life Oregano Seasoning)
  10. salt to taste
  11. 2 tbsp. butter
  12. lots of mozzarella cheese
Method:
Roll out the dough to fit into the pizza pan. I used my Generic Square Pizza Pan to make a deep-dish version.
Poke the dough several times with a fork and blind bake in 180 degrees oven for 15 minutes.
Over the semi-cooked pizza base, spread butter and pizza sauce.
Add the vegetables, crushed basil leaves and pepper powder.
Sprinkle with cheese and bake till the vegetables are cooked and cheese turns slightly brown.
Cool the pizza for atleast 5-10 minutes before attempting to unmold.
If the pizza seems stuck, cut slices in the tin itself and scoop out the slices one by one.
