Recipe 6: Olive and Garlic Bread

Once you have your Homemade Yeast Dough mastered. There is absolutely no reason for you to not try your hand at gourmet bread making.

This bread can be made with a variety of vegetables and herbs.

After baking the bread, slice it thin or thick, and enjoy it warm as it is or with a smear of butter.

Ingredients for 20-11cm bread:

  1. 300 gms. yeast dough
  2. 2 large thinly sliced red onions
  3. 8-9 chopped cloves of garlic
  4. 2 tbsp. sliced green and black olives (click to buy Delmonte Black Sliced Olives and Borges Green Sliced Olives)
  5. 2 tsp. black pepper powder
  6. salt to taste
  7. 1/4 cup melted butter
  8. 1/2 cup grated cheese

Method:

Roll out the dough 2 inch thick. Leaving an inch gap from all sides.
Spread butter all over.
Add the onions, garlic and olives evenly on top of the dough.
Finish off by spreading grated cheese, salt and black pepper powder.
Now begin rolling the dough like a swiss or cinnamon roll and place the dough carefully in a greased loaf tin. I have used Aluminum Non Stick Loaf Pan for even baking.
Bake for an hour (1/2 hour on 130 degrees and next 1/2 hour on 150 degrees).
