Recipe 40: One Bowl Eggless Brownie Using Cadbury

Brownies are pure joy.

They are an indulgence. And a treat to have once a while.

Recently, I was gifted a lot of chocolates and after consuming them just as it is, I was so bored that I stopped eating them.

But after a while, I had to think of something by which I can use those variety of chocolates and not let them go waste.

I have made brownies before and I know that unlike chocolate cake, brownies make use of melted chocolate.

That's it.

My one bowl brownies using two of my favourite kinds of Cadbury - Dairy Milk and Five Star is born!!!

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup all purpose flour
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 3/4 cup sugar powder
  4. 1/2 cup vegetable oil or unsalted butter
  5. 2 tbsp. unsweetened chocolate powder (click to buy Hershey's Cocoa Powder)
  6. 2 tsp. instant coffee powder (click to buy Nescafe Travel Kit Edition)
  7. 1 tsp. salt
  8. 1 Cadbury Dairy Milk or any 20gms milk chocolate
  9. 1 Cadbury Five Star or any caramel chocolate bar

Method:

In a microwave safe mug, heat milk.
Dissolve coffee powder in it.
In a large mixing bowl, add the sugar, milk, oil and milk chocolate chunks.
The heat from the milk will melt the chocolate.
Now add flour, salt and chocolate powder to the wet mixture.
Brownies are dense and fudgy in texture. Therefore, unlike chocolate cakes in this recipe you have to omit rising agents like baking powder or baking soda.
Pour the brownie batter in a greased and floured brownie mould.
Cut pieces of Five Star and dot it on top of the wet brownie batter.
Do not stir.
Bake it in oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
Do not cook till the top dries out. Brownies are supposed to be a little underdone.
Cool and cut into big squares.
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream!
