This recipe was made by the cook in my parents house.
I made an urgent request and BAM! comes the biryani.
When it comes to making something so quick and easy, I am always up for noting it down and sharing it here.
Just gather some boiled rice, eggs, yogurt and onions, and you are almost done.
Ingredients for 3 Servings:
- 4 cups rice
- 1/2 cup sour yogurt
- 3 eggs
- 2 medium size potatoes
- 2 medium size onions
- 8-10 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- 5-6 green chillies
- 2 tbsp. whole spices (3 cardamom, 2-3 cinnamon sticks, 6-8 cloves)
- 1 tbsp. biryani masala (get on Amazon)
- 1 tbsp. kewra water (get on Amazon)
- 1 tbsp. ghee
- 2 tsp. dhania/coriander powder
- 2 tsp. red chilly powder
- 2 bay leaves
- salt to taste
- vegetable oil for cooking
Method:
Boil rice till it is 80 percent done.
Keep aside.
Hard boil the eggs.
Deshell and keep aside.
Fry thinly sliced onions till golden brown.
Meanwhile make a course paste of ginger and garlic.

Add ginger-garlic paste to onions and fry for 10 minutes.
Add all the whole spices like cardamom, cinnamon and cloves.
Stir for 1 minute.
Add beaten yogurt and stir well.
Cook on medium heat till oil begins to surface.
Add dhania powder, red chilly powder, biryani masala and salt.
Add green chillies, boiled eggs and potatoes.
Sauté for 2 minutes.
